The test condition for the normal usage model was tested under the following specific condition in one day: 90 min phone calls, 500 text messages, 80 min streaming music, 30 min YouTube, 30 min TikTok, 60 min gameplay, 20 photos and 120 sec video recording. Actual usage may differ depending on conditions.
The battery life is compared to that of the previous Zenfone model. Actual wattage may vary depending on conditions. HyperCharge supports 30-watt charging which requires use of the supplied ASUS charger. The battery typical capacity is 4300mAh, while the battery rated capacity is 4150 mAh. The vapor chamber in Zenfone 9 is twice as large as that in Zenfone 8. The comparison is specifically comparing Zenfone 9’s vapor chamber and Zenfone 8’s heat pipe. Please note that the device has a USB-C charging port, and this USB-C port must be completely dry before any attempt is made at charging. After the test the device is removed and fully dried, then checked for normal operation. Water resistance is tested by submerging the device to a depth of 1.5 meters in tap water for 30 minutes. Failure to observe correct precautions will invalidate the device warranty and the function of water and dust resistance. The device should never be completely submerged underwater, and should not be allowed to come into contact with seawater, brine, chlorinated water or drinks. Water and dust resistance can deteriorate over time in normal usage, or if the device is damaged, repaired or taken apart. 
The device has been tested for water resistance using IEC 60529 standard and has achieved an IP65/68 rating.
